I have been a believer and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ since 1985. I have been married to a wonderful woman for 19 years now. We have four children ranging in ages of 16 to 25 years old.
Honestly as I look at my life and my performance as a father and husband over the last two decades, I would have to say that I have been a dismal failure. That being said, God in His loving kindness has not left me to wallow in may failures. Can anyone identify with what I have just told you? If your like me the task of being a Godly man and leader in your home, frankly seems impossible. The good news is that all things are possible with God, if you will come to Him in humility and honesty, (and I mean the brutal, ugly, honest truth). He can do above and beyond what you can ask or think. So I will chronicle the steps that I have taken as I humbly yielded to Gods word and direction.
By the way there is no magic pill or easy way to change your life, it is going to be hard gut wrenching work, a transformation that only God can pull off, as you yield to His will.
Caution! If you are going to try to change yourself and your behavior using your own strength or the wisdom of the world you will fail, believe me I have tried to do it in my own strength, it won't work. We have to look to God, Jesus His son, the Holy spirit, and the bible for our wisdom.
James chapter 1:5 (But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.)
Thank God that He does not find fault with us when we come to Him in sincerity and humility with an attitude of repentance.
Take heart we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
